Scofell carries out commercial landscaping for businesses, schools and managed properties such as business parks. We carry out all landscaping tasks, including installing footbridges and fencing, clearing vegetation, tree surgery, turfing, paving, and planting trees and shrubs.
We also provide a complete landscaping package for house builders and developers. We always have sustainability in mind, and use swales to remove pollutants and promote efficient drainage. Our team work closely with site managers and ecologists, and are used to following landscape architects’ plans, delivering professional results to tight deadlines.
Commercial Landscaping Services
Our specialists have qualifications in turf management, and can advise you on the best type of turf to use, whether it’s for a sports pitch, racecourse or lawn.
Laying turf is a manual process, but we use rotovators to prepare and level the ground before the turf is laid, to ensure a professional-looking and long-lasting result.
Our horticulturalists plant thousands of shrubs a year, whether containerised, bare-root or rootballed. We also offer after-care to keep the shrubs healthy and well maintained.
We usually work from landscape architects’ plans on large projects, but can also create planting plans and give advice on smaller projects.
Whether you want a native hedge, such as hawthorn or blackthorn, or a formal hedge such as yew or box, we can plant it for you – including adding spiral casing to protect against nibbling by rabbits and deer.
Our experts can also advise you on replacing plants in a hedge that needs rejuvenating.
Every year we plant thousands of trees, ranging from young bare-root plants to mature 40ft-tall oak trees. When planting trees in urban areas, we use ground-specific tree pits and make sure that the trees are secured to withstand the windiest weather.
Our arborists also provide after-care, to ensure that the trees are properly maintained.
Wildflower seeding and turfing greatly adds to the biodiversity of a site, and helps the relocation of wildlife after construction projects.
Scofell is wildflower-turf accredited, and we have installed many wildflower areas for clients. We advise on the best turf for sun or shade, and always use native British wildflowers.
Our hard landscaping skills make use of timber sleepers. On a large scale, we can make decking boardwalks and footbridges in country parks. On a smaller scale, we use sleepers to make raised flower beds for schools, and retaining walls for steps in hotel gardens.
